This document (click here) is the most current procedure for drop off and pick up. In order to minimize the opportunities for close contact, doors will be open at 8:30 and students should be dropped off by 9:00 at the latest. Drop offs after 9:00 must enter at the south west door and proceed to reception for temperature checks. In less than two weeks, over 80 students from Progressive Academy will be descending on NAIT to participate in a local youth robotics competition! Over 40 teams from Edmonton and area, join us at this technology event. Students in Grades 2 and 3 participate in FIRST Lego League Jr. which introduces them to STEM concepts. Students build models and create posters to present what they’ve learned. Students in Grades 4 to 9 having been working hard at the FIRST Lego League program since September, with students contributing to their teams in a variety of ways such as: robot programming, photography, graphic design and public speaking.Learn more

Friday, February 1st the Progressive Academy Panthers cheer teams had their first cheer competition of the season at the Victoria Cheer Championship 2019. Both of the PA Panthers cheer squads put their hearts into their performances and came out with trophies. The Beginner Division team received first place, and our Novice team received third place. Eleven amazing robotics teams from Progressive Academy competed on January 26th in the Edmonton FIRST Lego League Championship at NAIT.  Five of our teams were from grades two and three, who competed in the FLL Jr. divisions, where students worked hard to learn about the challenges of living in space. Each team created displays to showcase their learning and demonstrated the moon bases they built, complete with displaying their programming skills with their moon rover. The Alberta Government has spent $2.7 billion over 13 years to reduce class sizes, according to the Edmonton Journal today. We thought we’d post information about our average class sizes so no one had to go through the trouble of filing an information request. We have visited the wonders of China and explored the rich history of Ontario and Quebec.
