On Saturday, January 21st, 2017, Progressive Academy Grade 4 – 6 students took part in the FIRST Lego League Tournament at NAIT. This year’s theme was Animal Allies. Students researched human and animal interactions, identified a problem, and posed a solution. They then had an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills at the tournament. Teams were judged on several criteria.
Progressive Academy’s FLL teams placed extremely well! The Potters took second place in programming, while the RS Robotics Squad paced first in Teamwork! We are very proud of our enthusiastic and competent students.
Our younger students, the Grade 2/3 class, participated in JrFLL. The students were very excited to showcase their posters and lego models which showed what they’ve learned about honeybees and the animals they researched. They felt thrilled and confident about presenting their work to the judge.
